Free Radicals are compounds with unpaired electrons that are more likely to react with other molecules. Some free radicals have negative effects on human cells and have been linked to ageing and certain diseases.

Many fruits have high levels of Vitamin C. Noni or Morinda Citrifolia has a particularly high levels. Food safety laws require Noni fruit juice to be pasteurized. As with orange juice, this will reduce the vitamin C content, due to this vitamin being heat sensitive.
Orange juice products like many vitamin C sources have ascorbic acid added to increase their potency. Addition of ascorbic acid is not a part of the processing of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. Vitamin C is not the only significant antioxidant in Noni fruit/Noni juice. Other antioxidant phytochemicals are of course present in the juice, which are classified as flavonoids, lignans, and iridoids. Some of these compounds have only been found to occur in Noni fruit so far.
